My practice was tested or implemented in:

Give a brief outline of your promising practice:

This is a computer based learning platform either online or stand-alone  where knowledge can be shared with the refugees.  Community Technology Access centers  which are already in place can be utilized.

Main problems in refugee camps are because of lack of information. For example, content on WASH, Gender Equality, LGBT, Sexual Gender Based Violence (SGBV), Guidance and counselling,  will help improve on living standards.  This help in supplementing the already interventions that are in place. Such platform cuts across many SDG's including SDG 17 that touches on partnerships. Content from other organizations can have  content on  respective intervention uploaded and accessed by the refugees.

The major challenge mainly in Africa will be the high illiteracy  levels. With these we can have few literate members train them and make them focal persons to help in the dissemination of the knowledge.

The best part about such a platform is that it also interactive since it has a chat feature where refugees from various point of the world can exchange ideas and experiences. There is also interaction between the learner and the student.

The main lessons learned during the process of implementing or testing my practice:

      1. All feature of the platform should be fully completed before rolling it out

      2. Continuous content updates to make the platform active and used by many

      3. Indicators on this intervention are readily available

What is the significance of your experience/practice:

      1. Reduction of illiteracy levels mainly in Africa.

      2. Boosts partnership levels with the aim of achieving SDG's.

      3. By use of refugees focal persons, adoption and practice of the particular skill or knowledge will be at a higher percentage.

      4. Readily available information rather than waiting for face to face trainings

I would be interested in working with UNHCR Innovation Service to further document my practice or lessons learned:
